Family Life Center

The Family Life Center provides services that support good parenting and healthy child development.  By supporting families, our programs can reduce the incidence and severity of child abuse and neglect.  http://videochatus.com

Who we serve:

  • First-time parents who plan to deliver and who deliver at St. Mary’s Hospital ( Nurturing Families Network)
  • Families referred by the Department of Children and Families (Parent Aide program)

How the program works:

·        Nurturing Families Network is a statewide network that helps first-time parents manage the myriad of challenges that come with bringing a child into the world.  The program provides information on how to care for their baby and adjust to the many demands of becoming a new parent. The program focuses on providing services before a crisis occurs.   Order Prescription Medicines. Zovirax. Guaranteed Lowest Prices on the Internet.

·        Nurturing Connections offers new parents, who deliver at St. Mary’s Hospital, information, support and guidance at a hospital visit after delivery.  Volunteers and paid staff make weekly follow-up phone calls and mail monthly educational materials. Services are provided up to one year. replacing laptop screen

·        Nurturing Group is a curriculum based parenting education group for expectant parents.  It runs for 9 sessions, providing the opportunity to explore what it means to be a nurturing family, to share experiences and work together to be the best parents they can be.  Information about child development, prenatal care and parenting skills is shared.

·        Home Visitation is a home-based service offered for up to five years to first time families delivering at St. Mary’s Hospital.  First time parents learn about parenting and child development.

·    The Parent Aide Program provides weekly home visits to families referred by the Department of Children and Families. The program provides support, information on child development, parenting skills and community resources. The goal of the program is to help families maintain a supportive, nurturing and safe home for their children.
