Pat Griskus Triathlon At the age of 19, Pat Griskus lost his left leg in a motorcycle accident. Despite obvious and overwhelming odds, Pat became a nationally recognized runner and triathlete, competing on an artificial leg. Like Pat, our children overcome incredible obstacles each and every day. Therefore, it is appropriate that the competition is held annually to benefit programs at Child Guidance. Since 2002, nearly $20,000 has been donated. We are grateful to Robin Griskus, Laura Griskus, Tom Wilkas and the army of volunteers and athletes who rise to the challenge and make a difference in the lives of our children. An Olympic Distance Triathlon every June. The race course consists of a one-mile lake swim, 25-mile bike and 6.2 mile run. A Sprint Distance Triathlon, consisting of a half-mile lake swim, 10.5 mile bike around the lake and 3.1 mile run is held in July. Both events are held at Quassy Amusement Park in Middlebury.
